Monday, January 27 - Wednesday, Jan. 29

E.L.A. 30 - Began unit on Canadian identity. Looked at Saskatchewan sayings. Assignment: find 3 pictures of people and state how they represent Canadians. Due Thursday.

E.L.A. 11I - Looked at childhood memories and discussed childhood souvenirs with the class. Read I Remember Back Home. Made a list of positive and negative memories from the poem. Assigned an I am poem about their memories. Gave an example to follow. Due Friday. Read poems Home Street, My Parents Kept Me, and Motherlove and discussed the poems in groups and then as a class.

History 30 - Current Events for Wednesday - Anna, Nina and Danika. Discussed midterm. Looked at political cartoons and their purpose. Assignment - find a modern political cartoon and discuss the elements of a cartoon and what the cartoon means. Due Thursday.

History 10 - Began New Directions in Science - Ptolemy, Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, Newton. Looked at changes in medicine in 16th century. Discussed changes in thinking of philosophers - Locke, Montesquieu, Voltaire, Rousseau.Do questions on Enlightenment monarchs and impact p. 12.

E.L.A 10 - Began a novel study on a novel of their choosing. Novel assignment - 1,2,4 due Feb. 14 and 3,5,6 due Feb. 28. Discussed the Hunger Games with Sian - Chapter 1 and 2.

C.E. 11T - Discussed the outline for the quiz on Friday on Protestant Reformation and Councils of the Church. Worked on final assignment for this section- how is the Church viewed today. Due March 3.

Health 8 - Began a unit on stress and stress management. Due Wednesday - describe a source of stress, how will you manage time effectively and how will you set priorities.

C.E. 11T - Discussed the Protestant Reformation.

E.L.A. 10 - Read After the Sirens - short story and they did elements of a short story - due tomorrow. Did sentence variety work sheet for tomorrow.

History 30 - Kennedy, Keanna, Mikaela - current events. Went over what to study for midterm and how exam would be formatted.

E.L.A.  30 - Worked on Global Issues assignment due Monday.

E.L.A. 8 - presented photo essays. Began watching Madagascar 3 - and will do a movie review.

E.L.A. 10T - Read to the end of Chapter 17 of the Hunger Games. Update the blog and facebook activities. Finish the letter to President Snow to be handed in tomorrow.

History 30 - Current Events on Wednesday - Keanna, Mikaela, Kennedy. Worked on New France project due October 23.

E.L.A. 30 - Worked on Hamlet essay due October 30.

E.L.A. 12S - Finished reading Hamlet. Assigned questions to Act V due tomorrow.

C.E. 11T - Made notes on Paul's first voyage. Looked at the Council of Jerusalem and the issues dealing with the early Church. They made notes on Paul's second voyage which we will  look at Thursday.

History 30 - Worked on New France project.

English 11T - Prepared interview/ role play for I am Hutterite and presented second class. Finished reading the book.

E.L.A. 11T - Corrected Chapter 8+9 of I am Hutterite. Began Chapter 10. Today, will begin Variety Night act.

E.L.A. 12 - Corrected Act III Sc. 2. Read Act III Sc. 3 and 4 of Hamlet. Finish Act III Sc 4. Read Act IV Sc. 1+2. Do questions.

S.S. 7 - Quiz today on Latitude, longitude, continents, northern Canada, North America. Color map of Canada.

C.E. 11T - Summarize the 6 models of the Church due Thursday. Also due Thursday answer #9, #12, #13 from the textbook and hand in.

E.L.A. 10K- Finish reading chapter 4 of The Hunger Games.  First blog post is due Wednesday at the end of class.

C.E. 11T  - Worked on prayer assignment due Sept. 24

E.L.A. 10C - Finished the story - Loss of the Sky and assigned the writing assignment on identity. They will have one class tomorrow and then will have to hand it in.

History 30 - Current events - Alyx and Danika. Presented information to the class concerning different aboriginal groups.

E.L.A. 30 - Read the introduction poems of their partner to the class and handed in a good copy. Worked on preparing for the in class essay on Beowulf which will be tomorrow.

E.L.A. 8 - Finished the story using words dealing with a hospital. Edited and revised copies and handed in the good copy.

Writing assignment - Write an informal essay on what it means to be Canadian - Due Thursday, Feb. 14. Read We Have to Sit Opposite - short story and answered questions due Thursday, Feb. 7.

History 20 - Discussed trench warfare of WWI. Assigned a small project on a different battle that occurred from 1914 - 1916. Each group must make an information sheet for their battle and present to the class. Due Tuesday, Feb. 12.

History 30 - Finish reading Factors of Confederation. Work on questions to political deadlock and the Atlantic Colonies. Due Monday, Feb. 11. Karlee, Hailey, Angela current events.

Found a picture of a Canadian landscape and described it using one example of figurative language. Handed it in Tuesday.
