E.L.A. 30 - Corrected Act I - Sc. 1-5. Listened to Act I, Sc. 1+2.

History 30 - Corrected an identification assignment from first contact of European. Quiz on first section of history - Friday, Oct. 5. Assigned Captain's Log - a creative writing assignment due Oct. 19.

History 10 - Discussed Acts research. Give notes on Growth of a Constitutional Government. Make chart of British Kings and Queens and what act they passed. English Civil War quiz - Thursday Oct. 4.

E.L.A. 10 - Read Chapter 9 and did questions and vocabulary. Due Thursday. Worked on historical persona essay - due Friday.

E.L.A 30 - Read Act I, Sc. 1+2 Hamlet. Read Act I, Sc. 3-5 and assign questions for the Act. Beowulf analysis due Tuesday, Oct. 2.

History 10 - Worked on current events due Wednesday. Corrected questions to Long Parliament, the English Civil War and Oliver Cromwell. Notes on limited Constitutional monarchy. Research Acts put into place as democracy increased in England.

History 30 - Current events quiz will be Oct. 4. Discussed reasons for colonization of North America. Looked at maps of Viking travels to Canada, John Cabot and Jacques Cartier. Identified important events and people of this time period 1000 - 1534 C.E.

E.L.A. 10 - Correct Chapter 5-8. Design a Tribute costume that reflects where you are from. Elements that represent you - city, neighborhood, family, your personality. Due Wednesday.

History 10 - Review James I and Charles I by reading Stuart monarchs sheets. Do questions on Long Parliament and the English Civil War - due tomorrow.

C.E. 10 - Assign C.E. storybook assignment - an autobiography.

E.L.A. 30 - Take in introductions of classmates. Begin Hamlet. Do pre-reading activity. Begin reading Act I, Sc. 1.

E.L.A. 30 - Finished reading the Monk of the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales. Worked on writing an introduction of a classmate in the same style - due Monday. Worked on Beowulf analysis.

History 30 - Presented Inuit culture information. Looked at world view and Iroquois Confederacy and examined differences between aboriginal and European world view. Discussed what historical significance means and its value to learning history.

History 10 - Worked on Life in Elizabethan society and presented Thursday (today). Those groups whose members were absent will present Friday or Monday. May begin the English Civil war.

History 30 - Worked on researching aboriginal groups - due Sept. 17

History 10 - Reviewed the enlightenment. Exam is Wednesday, Sept. 19. Began looking at the civil war in England. Tudor monarchs. Will begin a small project on life in Elizabethan England.

C.E. 10 - Finished prayer assignment due Monday, Sept. 17. Worked on personal coat of arms. Due at the end of class. The written portion is due Tuesday.

History 10 - Correct Enlightenment thinkers worksheet and the strengths and weaknesses of the philosophers. Took notes on the impact of enlightenment and then made notes on enlightened monarchs and famous artists of the time.

E.L.A. 10 - Corrected the story The Michelle I Know and the grammar sheet on quotation marks and sentences. Assigned Portfolio #1 - a historical persona essay - due Sept. 28. Began The Hunger Games - must read to page 15.

E.L.A. 30 - Worked on nomination speech for the most admirable person of our time - due Sept. 17. Began Beowulf and assigned portfolio #1 - an analysis of the poem Beowulf.

History 10 - Corrected current events - Debris from the Tsunami. Discussed inferences. Took notes on philosophers of the enlightenment period. Will continue with that and will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each philosopher as well as matching information with the right philosopher.

History 30 - Corrected and discusses the physiographic regions of Canada. Divided into groups and began looking at aboriginal groups pre-contact.

Sept. 7, 2012 E.L.A. B30 - Discussed identity - read poems Identity, The Enemy, A Person is a Person. Began looking at Human Qualities and Ideals - read Shooting an Elephant and discussed questions. Assigned a Nomination speech for an admirable person due Monday, Sept. 17 E.L.A. A10 - Looked at identity and challenges of life - read aboriginal creation myths, "Growing up Native" and "The Michelle I know". Do questions and plot diagram of the short story. History 10 - Began looking at scientific discoveries of the 1500s and their impact. Assigned current events due Monday, Sept 10. C.E. 10 - Working on making a prayer booklet. History 30 - Map of Canada. Briefly describe 6 physiographic regions of Canada. Due Tuesday, Sept. 11.
