History 10 - Worked on current events due Wednesday. Corrected questions to Long Parliament, the English Civil War and Oliver Cromwell. Notes on limited Constitutional monarchy. Research Acts put into place as democracy increased in England.
History 30 - Current events quiz will be Oct. 4. Discussed reasons for colonization of North America. Looked at maps of Viking travels to Canada, John Cabot and Jacques Cartier. Identified important events and people of this time period 1000 - 1534 C.E.

History 10 - Correct Enlightenment thinkers worksheet and the strengths and weaknesses of the philosophers. Took notes on the impact of enlightenment and then made notes on enlightened monarchs and famous artists of the time.

E.L.A. 30 - Worked on nomination speech for the most admirable person of our time - due Sept. 17. Began Beowulf and assigned portfolio #1 - an analysis of the poem Beowulf.
History 10 - Corrected current events - Debris from the Tsunami. Discussed inferences. Took notes on philosophers of the enlightenment period. Will continue with that and will look at the strengths and weaknesses of each philosopher as well as matching information with the right philosopher.
History 30 - Corrected and discusses the physiographic regions of Canada. Divided into groups and began looking at aboriginal groups pre-contact.
